Oświęcim looked very grey and cold on windy, snowy-raining, dark late winter early-December afternoon I was walking to Auschwitz, a tragically-known worldwide notorious place of unleashed human barbarity,a place of remembrance casted at this locality of then Nazi Germany’s concentration camp bearing the German name for this Polish town used to establishing fascists’ factory to industrially annihilate the humans. A fourty minute power black-out happened into the exebition area just added horror impressions to a well prepeared visitior.
A living memory of this tragedy, in first and foremost instance the Holocaust of the Jews , is vitally important for a planet because of a long long long list of reasons still well flourishing regrettably, having initiated more recent bloody outbursts in Southern Lebanon, Rwanda, ex-Yugoslavian Srebrenica.
That is why sixty five years on the International Holocaust Remembrance Day was commemorated in Auschwitz and round a globe by the top officials noticeably: this tragedy itself is sorely unique at any scale of the modern history.
An optimistic collaboration between Holocaust survivor and German music band “Microphone Mafia” represented by Germans of a Turkish-Muslim descent innevitably remined both a fact that then Stalin’s communist USSR was the only country which in September 1939 wide-opended its boundaries for hundreds of thousands of refugees uncheked - potential victims of the civilized Nazi-swept Europe of the last century fascist thirties,- and for how long this communist - internatioinalistic, much atheistic - attitude will survive in a modern world?
Any epoch brings about own challenge and a global climate change is quite realistically initiating its challenge, own green Holocaust undiscriminately as even Jewish adoptability and inventualism are not panacea for a global catastrophe The 27 January reminds a globe forever.
