I think indian men have something severely wrong with them as they cannot control their senses on seeing a girl. I believe maximum number of rapists must belong to this country only. This is sick.

They are all same. One of the indian fashion designer is facing jail term here as well.

Australia, be prepared as now you would be termed as racist...

Probably, gender issues vary a bit round a globe as tools used to:

I feel Indians are shy...and cannot approach a girl....this leads to them becoming desperate...which indeed results in such acts of sexuall harrasments towards woman...which is a shame...

You can’t give excuses to justify rape Mr. Ranjan. A crime is a crime.

Think about a girl who is dragged into sex without her consent, it becomes impossible for her to forget that.

Anyway, I do not complain on Indian males if they were deployed properly... sometimes...

Its a sad and awful fact of life that some men of all nationalities rape women - every day and in every country on this planet.
These ones got caught and just happen to be Indian men.

@Lynne K

I must appreciate your for making balanced comments without being carried away in the heat of the moment !!

I have always been of the opinion that such acts have nothing to do with any particular community or nationality.

These acts speak volume about the times in which we are living. To think that by installing cameras or by coining strict laws you can avert such incidents is simply childish.

I read of incident wherein a young lady prisoner was molested by the jail officials in US.My point is that to rely solely on laws is not going to produce results.Mental alertness and tough laws might reduce such event but in wake of so many negative influences around us it’s really impossible to prevent such crimes.

I think harsh punishments of such crimes can only stop such acts...

And this is so true that these acts not just happen in India, but happen in most countries..

So, never ever sleep in a train-if even cameras had been installed into.

I feel, flying is an option, but... What do you, Lynne K., think of?

Anyway, if she was ”sexually assaulted” she is lucky to be done by the ”half-educated” Indian students rather than by local products educated at a first world level:

sure flying would be a better option but not every one can afford that luxury, people should be able to rest and sleep on long train journeys with out feeling fearful or being attacked.
Pierre - no person any where is ”lucky” to be raped to any degree, viciously or lightly.
As for the local probucts being educated at world first class level: sorry but you are very wrong as in the out back in N.T. for aboriginies there is no such thing, they are ”lucky” to just have a roof over their heads, their plight and situation is dreadful.

Well, if Australia cannot educate own citizens, what would foreign students supposed to get, Lynne K?

As understood, even airjets are not safe enough for affording the flights:

Horhe B.,
”Grunwald case Rabbi Israel Grunwald of Borough Park, Brooklyn NY was accused of molesting a 15 year-old on a 1995 plane flight from Australia to Los Angeles.”

It’s a long way to sit from Australia to NYC, but making frequent stops might somehow to ease transport-related problems.

And what distances do you, Lynne K, travel usually?

I have done a lot of travelling - a few years ago now, both long train journeys in sleeping berths and I have also been to the States, lived in the U.K. for a year and had many flights through to Europe, as well as back packed up and down the east coast of Australia, but I have usually had kids with me and fortunately haven’t encountered any problems.

Some agents agitate to visit your land even here but where is a value for money??? Even for tourists, not those Indians/Sri-Lankas who had bought works in Australia (health is more important than a pitiful handfull of dollars cheap slaves have been paid with).
