Known for a natural beauty and hospitability, Georgia is as much variously inhabited region as any Old World multinational place is.

Tbilisi Viaduct, Photo by M. Kerjman

Historically, it was more easily reachable both geographically and spiritually for a Russian Tsars’ influence than for Ottoman Turkey or British rulers steadily moving towards the North through much higher and distant Himalayans in India (contemporary Pakistan).

Local boundaries and political entities have been formed during centuries and played no significance during communist epoch of the USSR.

A specific place of Georgia was factually secured by having a native Georgian, Joseph Dzhugashvili known as Stalin , at the top of a Soviet state during the most totalitarian and genocide epoch of so-called “working class power-ship”.

Although the ethnic Georgians as any other nationality suffered much under tyranny of this communist tsar, specific local relations had survived at a much more intact scale than in other European regions of the ex-USSR, grounding cooperation between nationally-different parts of this than Soviet Republic and already predetermining mafia-power broking fighting intensified since collapse of the USSR along both economic and nations’ lines

In such circumstances, formally autonomic under Soviet constitution regions of Georgia, inspired with East Timor and Kosovo developments, followed in footsteps of other ex-USSR places such as Moldova’s Pridnister Region and Chechnya, for instance, declared themselves political entities independent from Georgia in 1999.

Sick from communist delusions and tired with continuing clan feuds, sharply impoverished after losing the traditional SU markets and consumers of local industry, population indifferently watched at a political farce having brought US-educated London-oriented supposedly progressive new-generation leader M. Sarakashvili to a presidential palace.

As during M.Saakashvili rule a local majority’s post-USSR pitiful existence had changed a little, not recognised self-proclaimed-independent provinces intensify their moves towards full international Kosovo-style statehoods.

Perhaps, starting a war against rebellion provinces entertains not attending Beijing world powerbrokers less impressively than Olympiad-2008 does.

It is a pity to realise that my comments are instantly invisible on English-language BBC pages. One could say, it because a freedom of speech is existing somewhere for exports only:
“Suggesting one is writing on this page while being in Sth. Ossetia is as much naïve as awarding Kosovo terrorists with statehood while supporting a pro-independent Kosovo Georgia’s “national integrity”.

However, I saw no contradicting BBC masters’ opinions in this English-language site till a date at all.”

I hope at BBC none is offended by not waiting any longer for London broadcaster’s mercy at publishing a comment provided above.

Peace for Georgia, Osetia, Russia, Europe-and all us round a globe NOW!

Perhaps, an employment situation is really dramatic in Australia with non-UK-linked biologically if even Iraqi refugees are ready go back yesterday:

Resettled Iraqis left feeling dumped·	Simon Mann
·	August 5, 2008

IRAQI interpreters given asylum in Australia after working alongside Australian troops during the occupation of their country say they feel short-changed by the Federal Government since arriving in Australia two months ago.

The interpreters, who faced persecution in Iraq and were branded traitors by many of their countrymen, feel they have been dumped in Australia with little help or prospect of work.

They say they were promised jobs, immediate health care and moderately priced housing.

However, most have been told since arriving that they will need to retrain to work in their existing professions. Some, with family health issues, have been placed on public hospital waiting lists, and those who have been housed are paying almost half their
Centrelink payments in rent. Many say they have had to scrounge for furniture and clothes from church and charity groups. Several families are still living in motels.

A small number of the Iraqis, many of whom are trained teachers and university educated, became so disillusioned that they are believed to have returned to Iraq at their own expense. Others say they plan to follow, putting themselves at great risk from vengeful militia, according to their colleagues.

The interpreters, who worked for Australia’s defence forces and embassy staff, earning as much as $800 a week, understand that they are being treated the same as refugee arrivals, but say they feel insulted. The only jobs on offer are low-paid cleaning jobs.
“We did not come from Darfur or places like that begging for help,” one interpreter, Zeki, told The Age. “We worked for the Australian Government in jobs that put our families at great risk. No one was ever going to kill us in Iraq for just being refugees.
They wanted to kill us because we were working for the Australians.”

The Federal Government announced in April that it would provide refuge for 100 interpreters and Iraqi support staff and their families - all up, about 400 people. The decision recognised a moral obligation to protect the Iraqi workers.

Australian soldiers and security consultants working in the Middle East had expressed grave fears for the safety of the Iraqis should they be left behind.

The first group of about 150 people arrived in Australia in May and were sent mostly to capital cities. They included about 30 families now living in greater Dandenong, Werribee and Geelong.

The last of the Iraqis arrived at the weekend. Some of those flown to Australia include the widows and families of workers killed by insurgents.

Rural town of Bendigo, by M. Kerjman

The Age spoke with several of the interpreters in Melbourne and by telephone with others in Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth. Some would only speak anonymously, fearing retribution from the Government.

Others asked to be identified by their first names only in reports that were likely to be published online and that could be accessed from Iraq.

The Iraqis feel slighted that no one from the Australian Defence Force welcomed them to Australia or had been in touch since they arrived. Instead, contractors who provide resettlement services to the Immigration Department had collected them from local airports and were their major point of contact.

“No one from Defence has said, ‘Thank you, great work, thanks for helping us,’ ” said Ates from Brisbane. “In Iraq we worked together. Here they don’t seem to want to know us.”

However, Defence Minister Joel Fitzgibbon said: “I am very happy with the manner in which Defence discharged its responsibilities in providing safe passage to Australia for the locally engaged employees, and neither I nor my office has received any complaints since their arrival in the country.”

An Immigration Department spokesman, Sandi Logan, said the Iraqis were being resettled according to humanitarian visa guidelines. He said he was confident immigration officials would have been clear
about what was being offered.

“This is a very well-rehearsed, very professional service that goes into refugee camps and does this sort of processing,” Mr Logan said.

“We have Australian cultural-orientation classes that are run in the refugee camps. These would not have been supplied in these circumstances because, essentially, you’re in a war zone. So (the Iraqis) may well have missed out on some of the cultural-orientation processes that would normally be provided … but that would be the only thing.”
Some of the Iraqis concede that their hopes were raised by Australian soldiers with whom they had developed close ties, rather than by any official promises. But others claim they were misled during interviews in Iraq, with officials implying that rents would take only 20% of their welfare payments until they could secure jobs.
The Iraqis appear to have fallen victim to Australia’s rental accommodation squeeze. Most have been placed in privately owned housing and are being charged market rents of up to $1300 a month.
One interpreter living in Adelaide, Talib, said he would return to Iraq with his wife and five children “tomorrow, if the Government would pay the fares”. He said he had contacted relatives in Iraq asking them to raise money to fund his return.
“Others have decided to go, too,” he said. “Life here is very difficult for us and not as they told us in Iraq. The soldiers told us we were very lucky and that we would live like kings in Australia.
“But in Iraq we had jobs, we had houses, we had cars. Here we have none of these things, and the prices are so expensive that we have just enough for rent and food and clothing for the children. I do not know how I will pay my other bills.”

Sometimes world global press pages are hardly assessable via links provided-it can perhaps explain a copy-past story following:

“UK historian quotes Captain Cook on global warming
Afghanistan Sun
Monday 4th August, 2008

New evidence uncovered by UK’s Met Office has revealed that the world went through a period of global warming in the 1730’s that could not have been man-made, as indicated by logs from the ships of Captain Cook and Lord Nelson.

According to a report in The Sun, the Meteorological Office scoured more than 6,000 Royal Navy logs dating from the 1600s.

Maritime historian, Dr Sam Willis said: “Ships officers recorded air pressure, wind strength, air and sea temperatures and other weather conditions. From these records, scientists can build a detailed picture of past weather and climate.”

The findings show the world went through a similar period of global warming in the 1730’s that could not have been man-made.

Freak storms like the ones experienced recently also occurred in the 1680’s and 1690’s.

They were the coldest decades in what is known as the Little Ice Age.

Cook mapped much of the Pacific before he was killed in Hawaii in a clash with the natives in 1779.

Nelson, who maintained his ships’ logs himself, covered the Arctic, West Indies, south east Asia and the Mediterranean before his death at the Battle Of Trafalgar off the coast of Spain in 1805.

Other valuable records include those of the East India Company, which controlled much of the trade between Britain and Asia with its ships.

According to Geographer Dr Dennis Wheeler, of Sunderland University, “British archives contain more than 100,000 Royal Navy logbooks from around 1670 to 1850 alone. They are a stunning resource.”

“Global warming is a reality, but our data show climate science is complex. It is wrong to take particular events and link them to carbon dioxide emissions. These records will give us a much clearer picture of what is really happening,” he added. ”

A brave British geographer! Unlike of some others, a then, for instance, UK participant in a study on Iraq military capabilities, let just good news further follow any info about his and like-minded of Britain researches.

I like celebrating the Independence Day in New York City!

Unlike Christmas, this day is really a whole-nation holiday as even the most separately-feeling self-locked inhabitants of native reserves have an opportunity to speak out of their history re-sharpen by European invasion, adjusted by separation from an English crown and becoming equal among other equal citizens of a great nation the United States are.

Although Philadelphia is a heart of the American Revolution where Old City’s every stone is a monument to the Independence, New York’s Roosevelt Island is the best place I enjoy to have been to in the evening when a firework America arranges outside the UN building invites the world to celebrate a joy of a sovereignty and democracy allowing this country to reach Martian levels of progress.

During a time, there are different changing moments for any human personally and for societies in general, surely.

This day, let’s wish the USA and the Americans many further achievements on their steady path of prosperous democratic development!
